Daren, I have been a network marketer since my wife Dian lost her job after the tragedy of 9-11-01. She was in that group of women over 50 years of age and having been with the company as an internet support tech for 17 years her company took advantage of the situation. I have been a Xango distributor for most of those years and was greatly affected by the deaths of Bob Schmidt and Sharon Unkefer.
My email file for Daren Falter goes back to Nov. 2007 and I will continue to follow your words and life’s leads. Unfortunately, because of personal issues this year we did not get to the XanGo convention in November 2008, but will look forward to seeing you elsewhere soon.

I recently found out about Sharon at XANGO Convention 2008. Sherman came up on the stage and gave a heart felt aspiring speech with tears in his eyes. I began to cry myself and also began to pray for Sherman and his family and friends. Lily and I and our whole family will keep the Unkefer’s in prayer. We have a pray blog for the world to share, feel free to request a pray for Sherman and anyone else you would like to share prayers so the World of Christians can pray for them. Thank you for sharing the warm heartfelt words from Ed & Yvonne about the passing of our beloved Sharon Unkefer. As a relatively new member of the “XANGO FAMILY,” I was stunned to hear the recent devastating news of Bob Schmidt, and the tragic news about Sharon is almost too much to bear.
At the same time, my heart is filled with joy to have been blessed to have known these two wonderful people and am honored and thank God that our paths crossed. I am deeply grateful for all that both Sharon and Bob so unselfishly shared of their knowledge of the industry, XANGO and about life.
The Sonoma County wine country contingent of XANGO is deeply saddened during this time, yet committed to carry on the work of creating a community of healthy families - spiritually, physically and financially, under the able guidance and mentorship of Dr David Engle and all the leaders of our company.
There are moments in life when we question God. I am certain that both Sharon & Bob were angels sent to not only share the “good news,” they also counseled and mentored so many of us with generosity, graciousness, compassion and love… for that we will be eternally grateful.
I am personally thankful to have Sharon and Bob as role models of how to make a true and lasting difference in the world, and we continue to have the Unkefer and Schmidt families in our daily prayers.

Hello Daren,

I enjoyed reading your book “How To Select a Network Marketing Company” (revised 5th edition). What I mean by “enjoyed” is, that it was very enlightening and educational at the same time.

Is there an existing “Daren’s Top Thirty” for 2008 - 2009? Or do your picks for the most viable businesses — based on your strategic findings, as outlined in the book — remain the same as for the previous year?

I’m still in the selection stage…. and seem more confused than before (leaning toward nutrition).
